| Thanks to Mario Lauterbach and Martin Lacey and all at the Great British Circus, a large number of CFA members had another great day at a proper traditional animal circus.
Mario and Martin, thanks very much for a great day.

| Mr Sandow you wrote,"I can not see how I would have used any other words other than to praise Mr Beadle and anyone else of influence who takes time to forward circus interests."
Anyone else of influence should refer to Andrew Lewis and you should praise him. There are not many circus fans who spend the time that he does forwarding circus interests. He is also well known and respected in these circles. Please do not take this an an arguement, critiscm or insult it is just an observation.

| Thanks Sue and thankyou Mr Sandow for your comments regarding my post on the recent CFA Rally to Martin Laceys Great British Circus. Mr Sandow, i guess you must of mis-read my posting, as i have not called Martins show a 'real circus'. Not sure where you have seen that comment! I did call it a 'proper traditional animal circus', which it is and i stick by my comment. Anyone that knows me, will accept the comment in the way it is intended to be meant. It is not meant in a critical way to anyone else currently operating a circus of any shape, style or size. | |

It still begs the question; 'what influence?'

As we all know forum wording can cause great anguish.

| I can see the point in Mr Sandow's clarification. Last year the Great British Circus could boast 3 elephants, the only cage in the Uk and a quite good exhotic. After that, everything was poor. When we speak of "good traditional circus with animals" we should refer to Krone, Knie, Gruss, where you don't have only good animal acts, also good clown acts, good flying trapeze, good hand balancing, good russian swing, etc. This is a good "complete" traditional circus show with animals, really worth every penny you spend for. We should learn to be not too obliging toward poor shows only because we have been guests to a rally or we are friends of. | |

| Yes indeed - and good friends can always call me Tom! Incidentally I am a traditionalist through and through but I do keep in mind it can be a very weak word. Tradition if the public welcome it, it is beneficial and it is profitable. I do remember 'the old days' quite well but must admit, the talent in new ideas and props and presentation is quite brilliant- and adventurous. (Circus vehicles now have breaks I understand) | |

| Hi Roberto. I take your point about Krone, Knie etc being proper traditional animal circuses and i only wish we had that kind of large impressive animal circus here in the UK, but sadly we don't. We do have Peter Jolly, Mondao, Bobby Roberts and the Great British, as well as Zippos, Tyanna and Giffords. My comments reflected a good day out at a proper circus. And my original wording on the posting, has not been changed. My posting today, is as it was written in the first place. | |

| I mean a proper traditional circus with elephants, horses, tigers, zebra but also clowns, acrobats, jugglers, contortionists. But don't worry, I mentioned those circuses because they are the very few left with a PROPER show in Europe. | |

Yes indeed, a very sound 'traditional' circus but do not lose sight that (the) Lord George Sanger - Barnum or any of the old time establishers of circus would not think twice about changing their 'traditional' concept to something else. They were first of all business men. I do differ with the CFA on a number of points and 'what is a circus' issue is but one of them (over many years!). If you read the last input on our own website Guest Book it comes from a junior school boy I would suppose and he calls our show 'your circus'! It is a childrens show but in the eyes of this child a circus. I will not argue with him. I have already said; circus takes many forms and could be one act in cabaret - it is all circus! We are here to serve the public.
