| Cirque du Soleil is an excellent and alive example of spirit, friendship and love set by two Canadian street performers Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier who founded this small company in a hope to make the world recognized their art talent. Since its debut in 1984, Cirque du Soleil Company has around 28 productions touring not only US but also overseas. These productions are self-described as a dramatic mixes of circus arts and street entertainment. Cirque du Soleil shows are reported to be witnessed by over 90 million worldwide. Alegría, Saltimbanco, Quidam, Dralion, Varekai, Corteo, and Kooza shows are currently touring across the world, while Mystère is a permanent show at Treasure Island in Las Vegas. O is another permanent show at Bellagio in Las Vegas and La Nouba show is also permanently played at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Their latest production “THE IMMORTAL World” Tour was just announced. THE IMMORTAL World Tour is a tribute to the king of Pop, Michael Jackson. Jamie King, writer/director of the Michael Jackson show confirmed that “THE IMMORTAL World” Tour will be launched by next fall probably around October 2011 in the 30 cities including Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. According to King, they will try to present Michael Jackson in every possible way so the audience could feel his presence even he has gone. The show is expected to run trough 2012 but it may extend depending on the response of Michael Jackson fans to Cirque du Soleil. The show will also include some video selections from Cirque du Soleil ‘This Is It’, and Michael songs like Smooth Criminal, Thriller and few remixes by Cirque du Soleil. The show will also feature some of the unheard Michael songs. Cirque du Soleil tickets will be on sale from Nov 22 for its new production “IRIS A Journey through the World of Cinema” exclusively created for Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center going to begin performing at July 21, 2011. Zarcana is another new acrobatic spectacle going to begin performance at June 2011 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. Cirque du Soleil is going to debut at the Africa, the only continent where Cirque du Soleil did not perform yet. In March their arena show Saltimbanco will tour South Africa and Antarctica. Cirque du Soleil has also moved back to Atlanta station with its "Ovo” show on Nov 4 and will run through Jan. 2, 2011. | |
