Netherlands National circus

Just wanted to say saw the show a couple of times last week in Lancing and was a brilliant show, recommended as always.

The Show: Tony Hopkins has changed Billy Smarts back to the previous Netherlands National Circus again this year. As always, Tony has put on a superb show. Not one act is a let down from the opening to the finale. With the impressive style and presentation of magician Ross presto, the ariel cube act from the attractive Alina Eskina, The Bull Dancers great trapeze act (will they do the triple? Not the first night but the second day they did!), the amazing Gymnastics Fantastics with their male and female troupe of springboard jumps high on to each other, the Bugrovi Sisters take on rola rola and juggling to a new level with their unique presentation, Pavel Voladas very stylish silk ropes act, Gordon Marquez with his excellent juggling and excellent clowning from Feilipo. Another act that deserves a mention is The Great Geraldo comedy trapeze act, so good to see it again after last year at the Great British Circus. The Toy box presentation before the interval deserves special mention too with the skipping act.

Housekeeping: A live band! Rarely seen these days and as I saw the show two days running you spot the difference without one (the band has a two week holiday booked from the second day I saw it!). Good colour programme for £4.50 and for a £1 photo ticket you are allowed to take photos. Good entrance gate and tent and restaurant area etc. Very impressive. Making Circus look like Circus! Special thanks for Ross for spending the time for a chat although I am not sure yet if I forgive Feilipo for getting me into the ring and supposedly throwing knives at me!!!!!
