| in my defence I did not "attack" you as you said, I stated positions that I hold in regard to this organisation and its members which were opposite to yours, if you call that an attack then so be it This took place on the "All the fun of the Fairs" forum and why you have carried it on here is beyond me. As regards the sign I made no mention of when this had hapened I just repeated what had been told to me, that at some point you indeed had a sign banning cfa members , you said yourself that members were banned , I knew nothing of any dispute you had with a CFA member, but it appeared from your posts on ATFOTF that you don't hold the CFA in the highest regard and I opposed that view. Your objection to the principle ---
'circus artistes seek the fame similar to pop stars so should suffer the consequences of that fame'. Any circus fan with one once of circus knowledge should know that circus must be a team of persons with no 'stars' otherwise tenting circus will not move. This comment so shows the ignorance of some members to the point of being disrespectful and that returns us to the original problem years ago. ---
- Is in my opinion wrong , there are superstars in the world of circus who are treated as such, I can think of Gunther Gebel Williams, Elvin Bale, David Larible who are household names in America in Davids case he is well known in europe through many tv appearances not just in circus but Chat shows on radio and TV , Fumigalli ( Gianni Huesca ) whilst working on Roncalli was a famous face throughout Germany. Our own Norman Barrett is extremely well known from his tv work with both Charlie Caroli and the chuckle brothers and this is reflected by comments from our audiences.
Many CFA members now visit circuses on the continent and are far better informed than in days of yore and to say that a circus is a tenting show of "persons with no stars" otherwise it would not move is outdated and ill informed
In my opinion ,and again this is a personal opinion not an attack, you look at the businees from a view that is old fashioned and rooted in the past, if you worked abroad or on a wider field you would realise how circus has changed over the last thirty years. | |

| now that is an attack ,First the word you are looking for and have mis- spelled twice is MEGA star I have never said I am any such thing ( by the way I am featured quite heavily on the zippo's poster this year) , so why are you so sarcastic . As far as circus habits on the continent they are not so different any more, something I would know having spent the majority of the last 20 years there, The names I mentioned were with touring shows Unless Ringling Brothers, Krone and Roncalli have pulled in recently. I have had enough of this because it is not possible to debate with you as can be seen from your last post so my last word on the subject will be to ask that you take life a little less seriously 'cos for a clown you are a real "downer" BTW I typed "clowns" into the google search engine and your not on the second page , unless your naked clowns calender, or the pornclownposse .com (and if you are you have a more exciting life than the rest of us) I got to page 8 before I gave up the will to live so check your facts and by the way www.clowndavidkonyot.com will find me anytime | |

| tom, david, as a circus fan, this is`nt very nice reading for a circus forum, views differ but when it goes down this road its nasty, guys take it as it is a bad day, tomorrow it will have blown over, your both entertainers, and you should hold your heads high as in this day and age with the resession and jobs being lost every day, you should remember that its the people like me you entertain, the forum is an open forum and everyone can read this, so call a truce and do what you both do best guys, MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH | |

| Tom,
i posted as a fan, an irish circus fan, i did`nt see what was posted on the other forum before it was deleted, let me just say i am not a member of any circus fans club, as i have seen in the past what has happened here in ireland with the cfi and did`nt like it, , no disrespect to the cfa, i posted from the heart as i think circus artistes are`nt respected enough for what they do, singers do not rick their lives twice a day over a ten month period on the road, i met david when he was in ireland and we built up a friendship, our paths never crossed maybe they will some day, i love circus with a passion, i travel ireland a lot to see the shows here,i look on circus directors and aristes with the same respect the younger generation look at the likes of take that, i have supported the irish circus since 1970, i`m no spring chicken by any means, i`m worried that what has been posted here between yourself and david will explode into a deeper mistrust between the two of you, oh believe me i have been on the reciving end of many a fight on the irish circus forum, but still talked to those same people when we met up afterwards even though it might have been a week or a few months, at the end of the day your posting on a website, friendships should not end because of what was posted eariler in the week, and in the five years i have known David i know he speaks with a lot of passion when it comes to the circus industry, thats all i`m going to say on this Tom, and i hope you dont pick up my comments in the wrong way,
Pat | |
